E-GAS-System
Components of The
E-Gas-System
In the world of maritime fire protection, the components of the ACS-1 system for ‘E-WATER’, ‘E-GAS’ and ‘E-CO2’ are indispensable building blocks for safety and efficiency. At safetec, we have specialized in developing these systems to meet the highest safety requirements. Every component, from control panels to specialized release panels, is carefully designed to enable optimal firefighting at sea.
Discover the individual elements of our system that together form a strong safety net for your vessels.
Control - and Indication Panels
CP-110 control panel
The CP-110 control panel is a core component of most E-WATER, E-CO2 and E-GAS systems that we offer at safetec. It displays all messages from the connected system, including fire alarms, error messages and status reports. The user interface is designed in accordance with EN 54-2 for ease of understanding.
Like almost all components in the ACS-1 family, it communicates with the system via the 4-wire CANbus. A redundant version of the CANbus can also be implemented. Potential-free contacts are available for communication with the ship systems, and of course a connection via RS485 or TCP-IP (Modbus) is also possible.
The CP-110 is the configuration master for the safetec systems. This means that changes to the configuration of a fire protection control system are made on this panel, either manually in a dialogue or via a laptop. However, as the ACS-1 works with distributed intelligence, the loss of the control panel does not render the system unusable once configuration is complete. The CP-110 can be integrated into control panels, consoles, modular cabinets or wall-mounted enclosures.
Local release panel CP-240
The CP-240 is an intelligent single section gas release panel and a key element for centralized gas powered fire suppression systems in electro-pneumatic design. It is available in two main versions: one for CO2 systems (E-CO2) and one for non-CO2 gases (E-GAS). The only difference between these versions is the labeling of the user interface.
Ship owners can custom order their own labeling, such as ’section valve’, ‘directional valve’, etc. The safety standards of the CP-240 are always high to meet the requirements of a CO2 release system. Operation is simple and direct, which makes it easier to make the right decision in stressful situations. Pre-alarm and ESD functions are separate and logically linked. Several CP-240s can be assigned to one section. A CP-110 control panel is always required as a ‘partner’ in the system. Systems with CP-240 (E-CO2 and E-GAS) are widely used on cruise ships and naval vessels.
Release panel CP-30
The CP-30 release panel is the heart of centralized electrical gas release systems and is specially designed for motor-driven section valves. It is available as standard in the CO2 version (E-CO2 system), but a version for gases other than CO2 (E-GAS system) is also available. Apart from the labeling, there are no other differences between the CO2 and non-CO2 versions.
Up to six sections can be controlled with the CP-30. Additional CP-30s can be added for larger systems. The CP-30 combines pre-alarm/time delay and ESD in one device. Systems with CP-30 do not require a CP-110 control panel, making E-CO2 in this configuration a compact system that is particularly suitable for cargo vessels. A combination with the SDS-72 sampling smoke detection system is recommended in this configuration.
Gas release systems with CP-30 can perform up to four discharges in one section. This is made possible by repeatedly pressing button 2, provided the system is preconfigured accordingly.
The CP-30 is housed in a wall-mounted cabinet. Its degree of protection is IP22, although a version certified for IP55 is also available.
Release panel CP-35
The CP-35 is a release panel for decentralized firefighting systems that use non-CO2 gases. It is part of the E-GAS range and can control up to five sections. If there are more sections in your project, additional CP-35s can be added. In a decentralized release system, each section has its own supply of extinguishing agent. Therefore, releases in more than one section are possible.
Gas release systems with CP-35 do not require a CP-110 control panel, but can be expanded with the local release boxes of the RP-2001 series. The CP-35 is housed in a wall-mounted cabinet and has a degree of protection of IP22. An IP55 certified version is also available.
